Bespoke
Have a design idea of your own? Interior sufaces will work with you to make your own area rug. We can make area rugs for commercial or residential needs. Although we work primarily with silk and wool, we can use other fibres such as linen, viscose or recycled sari silks.
No rug will be the same, they are knotted by hand and hand dyed to your specifications. Hand knotting is a skill handed to a family by their ancestors to create a one of a kind piece just for you.
Colors and inspiration
I like to make all my designs about nature; whether its about animals and creatures on land or under the ocean floor. I take my camera wherever I go and take photographs of everything and anything. Most of my designs are organic in nature and can come from plants, walls, a ripple on the ocean or what ever I feel connected to that day. Experimenting on canvas and using different mediums to create interesting textures or strokes will also lead to a rug design.
Trends
We are creatures of habit and yes we can follow the latest trend in home fashion. From time to time, clients will ask their designer for the hottest trend in carpet and area rugs and we can do our best to mimic the design.
